Emmanuel Amunike is the new head coach of the Super Eagles. After Jose Peseiro’s contract expired post-2023 AFCON, Nigeria has been on the hunt for a new leader for its national football team. While Finidi George temporarily took charge during the friendlies against Ghana and Mali, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has now chosen Amunike to take the helm.
Amunike, the former Golden Eaglet coach, brings a wealth of experience, having led Nigeria’s U17 national team to victory in the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2015. He also made history with the Tanzanian national team, guiding them to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after a forty-year absence.
