Governor of Zamfara state, Dauda Lawal has cried out that the state is under siege of banditry and kidnapping. He is now pleading with the Federal Government to come to their aid.
The governor lamented that the state has become an epicenter of banditry despite all efforts by his administration to tackle this menace.
He revealed this after meeting with the President in Abuja on the current security crisis bedeviling the state
Lawal attributed the situation to the poor military presence in the state and pleaded with the President to increase the number of military personnel in the state.
He also said that unless urgent action is taken to address the problem, the entire north stands the risk of witnessing bigger security challenges than ever before.
