Nigeria’s political landscape is often turbulent, with rumors and misinformation circulating regularly. Recently, a statement by Michael Nwolisa, media advisor to Peter Obi, was released in Abuja to clarify a misinformation that was circulating.
Nwolisa categorically denied the report, saying it was false and misleading. He stressed that this information emanated neither from Obi nor from the “Obidient Movement”, but rather from malicious people seeking to sow discord within the party.
He added that these harmful acts are not new and are aimed at destroying and destabilizing the party to attack Peter Obi. Currently, Obi’s main focus is on contributing to the betterment of Nigeria, not getting involved in partisan politics that ended with the final ruling of the Supreme Court in 2023.
He stressed that those who seek to create a crisis within the Freedom and Progress party are clearly enemies of democracy. Obi is currently focused on creating an environment conducive to democratic practice, without impunity, a practice unfortunately prevalent among politicians.
Peter Obi wishes to reassure the Nigerian people, especially the “Obidient” family, that their commitment to the LP party is strong and intact despite these attempts at disruption. It clearly indicates that its priority is to guarantee a democracy that respects fundamental principles, without compromise.
This statement aims to ease tensions and reaffirm Peter Obi’s commitment to democratic integrity and the well-being of the nation.
