It was all funfair as dignitaries, family members, political associates and well-wishers gathered on Thursday and Saturday, April 4th and 6th, 2024, at balmoral event centre, sheraton hotel, and the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Ikeja, Lagos State, to celebrate the traditional wedding engagement and holy matrimony of Omobayonle, the son of a former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, and his bride, Anjolaoluwa Adesanya.
Many hearts melted when the father of the bride walked her down the aisle to meet her expectant groom. As she strutted the red carpet, the congregation shared in the special moment as they sang a hymn in unison.
Just like the white wedding, the traditional wedding saw an array of notable guests and personalities in attendance. Dressed in elegant matching wine coloured attire, the couple could not stop adoring each other.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was when the bride showcased her dance moves as she was surrounded by her bridesmaids who cheered her on.
Another highlight was when the groom and his friends prostrated and pleaded with the bride’s family to let him have Adesanya as his wife.
The traditional wedding engagement ceremony ended with partying as juju legend, Ebenezer Obey; and a popular saxophonist, Beejay Sax, thrilled guests with sonorous music.
Other notable personalities at the events included former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Labour party presidential candidate for the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi; Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke; Ogun state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON; Ondo state governor, Honourable lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Olaide Adelami mni; Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, frontline traditional leaders from Ondo state, former governors, political leaders across Nigeria and many others.
