Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, visited the families of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar and the late Folashade Ariyo in Abuja.

Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar was brutally murdered by her abductors, and Folashade Ariyo, a 13-year-old daughter of Abuja-based lawyer Oladosu Folorunso Ariyo, also lost her life tragically.

In a post on his official X page, Peter Obi expressed his condolences to the grieving families, sharing the heartbreaking moments of the visits.

He emphasized the need for collective action against the rising wave of violence in the nation.

Obi said, “Unfortunate challenges like these raging violence in our society bring out the strength and resilience that lies within us. It is heartbreaking to witness the pain and suffering of different families caused by the senseless acts of violence that have plagued our nation.”

He called for unity in the face of insecurity and urged citizens not to succumb to fear. Instead, Obi encouraged everyone to stand up against the prevailing insecurity, support one another, and work towards creating a safer and more secure future for all.

Obi also pays tribute to the victims, saying, “May the memories of Nabeeha and all those who have lost their lives to such violent attacks inspire us, especially we the leaders, to take more decisive action against this ugly monster of insecurity.”

He expressed solidarity with the afflicted and bereaved families, noting that a nation that grieves together in moments of tragedy will rejoice together when overcoming challenges.
