Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi declared on Wednesday that he is not desperate to be president in 2027.
Obi said he only wants to get the poor and less privileged Nigerians out of this difficult situation.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, the former governor of Anambra State lamented that some people avoid discussing pressing issues facing Nigeria.
“We live in a system in which public officials and politicians are only seen during elections. I can tell you that it is an everyday job. I have said it several times that I am not desperate to become president of Nigeria. But I am desperate to see how poor and less privileged Nigerians get out of their plight on a daily basis.
“That’s what I’m desperate to see. And all of us can do it too. You cannot even feel happy or satisfied when several million (Nigerians) do not know where the next meal will come from,” he stated.
