Open drainage is the problem. These are often drainage gutters to nowhere! There was no civil engineering thought involved in designing drainages that end abruptly. Understanding gravity would be helpful in designing drainages, at least!

This is what Nigeria police always do. Does this guys have this kind of power to escalate things to make money out of it. Not even a simple citation or warning and comming back in few days for follow up and reinspection? They just bundle people into a makeshift jail. Very commendable the directive for the populace to clean their gutters, & knowing that coercive enforcement is sometimes needed with some of our ppl.
But like u perfectly captured, these guys need proper training, esp to understand when to escalate or de-escalate

Don’t support the evil some people commit by dumping refuse in the drainage and refused to clean them .Government has given them enough time to clean all drainages in front of their shops or home and it fell on deaf ears. If this physical maltreatment is the only language that will reset their brain be it so. Listen to the foolish argument of that guy. He is the owner of the shop and tenant for that reason he can’t clean the draining in front of his shop but he can sweep all manners of trash from his vicinity inside the drainage , then his management will clean them. And you are supporting his lies. Instead of correcting the guy you are threatening Soludo and his workers who are enforcing the cleaning exercise with votes. In fact l don’t know how some people are reasoning. Am leaving in abroad, l visited home last December and l can’t believe how dirty our people are. Even the so called new constructed roads and drainages were littered with empty water bottles , and other trash. Instead of supporting the government that are working hard to enforce cleanliness you are discouraging them . Do you think that any serious investor will like to live and invest in a dirty environment.

Firstly, environmental sanitation is a civil matter and arrest is out of it.
