The Labour Party 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi remains persistent in expressing his deep concerns about the 2024 budget, stating that there are items in the budget that do not align with the current circumstances of the country, and it is important to call for a review of the budget.

Obi said this, this Tuesday on X, saying that the budget’s numerous negatives have far-reaching implications for the nation’s development and the well-being of its citizens.

He made reference to some allocations in the budget which include; the N15 billion allocation for the National Assembly hospital which according to him exceeds five times the budgetary allocation to The National Hospital or the combined capital vote of our six major teaching hospitals across the nation.

He also criticized the N15.3 billion allocation for the National Assembly library project and procurement of books, lamenting that Nigeria doesn’t have its own Library as the structure has been under construction for the past 20 years.
