The recent mass abduction of pupils in Sokoto State by bandits has elicited strong condemnation from the Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen. Approximately 15 pupils were reportedly abducted from an Islamic school in Gidan Bakuso, Gada Local Government Area of Sokoto State, on Saturday, adding to the alarming trend of abductions in the country.

This incident follows closely on the heels of similar abductions in Borno and Kaduna States within the span of a week, all of which have been met with vehement condemnation from the Speaker. The escalating frequency of such abductions underscores the urgent need for robust measures to address the security challenges facing Nigeria and protect its citizens, particularly vulnerable children.
