Presidential candidate of the Labor Party, LP, in the last general election, Peter Obi, says his relentless quest for a better Nigeria has put him on a collision course with criminal elements in the Nigerian government.

Obi said government agencies are now trying to outdo themselves by questioning his character and reputation.

The former Anambra governor alleged that some government agencies are now holding town hall meetings on his issue.

Obi, however, said the unpleasant development will not deter him from his quest for a better Nigeria.

Obi said in Canada on Friday, while responding to questions about Nigeria’s latest general election, that many people would be shocked if they knew what he goes through every day.

“When I tell people, and I tell it every day, what I’m going through, you’re going to ask me why I’m in this. You will ask me why I still do this; who else do you have to bother? But I’m in it. Every now and then you see various government agencies, government instruments, even when I am not organizing elections, scolding me every day. They now organize town hall meetings just for me. No problem. It doesn’t bother me. Let’s keep doing what we’re doing. We did well. And we should be proud of it and continue on that trajectory.”

Obi was in Canada on a thank you tour to appreciate Nigerians living in the country for the support extended to him during the 2023 campaign/general elections
