That is okay but the following will keep Umahi as governor till 2023

1.He has the right of appeal. This on its own will linger for quite a while.
2. There is no guarantee that the Appeal court will uphold this judgment.
3. Even if the Appeal court should uphold the judgment he will appeal to the Supreme court. There will be drama there till Imo State will repeat itself.
For the moment let us at least rejoice that a judge had the courage to speak the truth.

Thank you Jesus for this battle win so far, let him vacate the office immediately and replace by God fearing PDP member

The news of Dave Umahie being striped of and disgraced out of office as the governor of Ebonyi state, as he meritoriously deserves, was the highlight of my day, it really made my day. No condition is permanent in this world. From here on, may bleak future mark all his horizon.

THE counsel to Umahi is of the position that the constitution did not specify the removal of a governor based on defection. there are so many things the constitution did not specify which leaves judgement at the discretion of the judiciary. in my view this is common sense that a governor is a representative of the party. he is a party flag bearer and did not contest the election as Mr David Umahi or in his personal capacity as Mr Umahi but in the capacity of the pdp candidate. this is common sense judgement which i wonder why the so called SAN get themselves involved in this . a candidate won an election utilising pdp mechanism and institution only to defect carrying the mandate elsewhere. defection in this case means he has forfeited the mandate. this is very clear. Umahi should vacate the seat first and if he so decides can contest from outside the government house. it is legally/morally wrong to contest while still maintaining the seat. he lacks the basis to appeal if he so maintains the same seat. the only validity of an appeal if respecting the verdict and then appealing. this is the judgement of a competent court which is binding on him.
