A Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Ebonyi state, Ifeanyi Odii is urging residents to discard the zoning principle and prioritise choosing leaders with capacity and acceptability in next year’s gubernatorial election. He stated this in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital while announcing his decision to contest the governorship election in the state. ARISE Correspondent, Abel Ejikeme reports

I support this speaker, ebony state is one state and people, you are not divers, the same religion, so why talk about zoning. I learnt of a particular community while rotated leadership. It was the turn of a clan to produce the secretary, but no one was literate , but they still gave it to them because it was their turn. States should forgets this zoning and divide and rule tactics which have been used to divide us so much
Zoning remains the answer, it makes a state or country develop faster, people kicking against zoning are selfish people. How wish Nigeria government initiate zoning southeast would have had better infrastructures.
ODII go and sit at home, you are too small to change a unique arrangements of the founding fathers of our dear state, Umahi is from Ohaozara in the south, so you from Onicha in the same south can't become our Governor, it's the turn of the north.
It is the turn of the North let it go to north.
Odii should wait until it is their turn.
My own problem is the party the north guy is coming from they are both youth and I love that kudos to Ebonyi state
