Interstate 10 in downtown Los Angeles remains closed following a fire that weakened the roadway and made it unsafe to drive on, putting a heavy strain on other nearby highways and surface streets. There is still no timetable for when the highway, which averages about 300,000 vehicles per day, will reopen. Carter Evans reports.

  1. The city has a department to inspect what is stored under the freeway as businesses are located under the same stretch of the I-10 freeway. The city also has a city bus parking lot under the I-10 freeway in the downtown area.
