The Gaza Health Ministry said at least 500 people were killed Tuesday when an airstrike hit a hospital compound in the center of Gaza City. Israeli officials denied targeting the hospital and said they believed the blast was caused by a rocket from Hamas or Islamic Jihad that fell short and struck the site. CBS News senior foreign correspondent Charlie D’Agata reports.

  1. I dont even know why Im going to write this because I know nobody cares, but this video (and the previous ones about the Hamas/Israel debacle) is just NOT IT.
While I don't expect all people to have the exact same beliefs as me, I do expect them to be cohesive with their stands. All media always calls out Trump and others for their authoritarism and fascist tendencies (and rightfuly so) but is now ignoring that Netnyahu is as authoritarian as they come? How can you be sure that all of the "evidence" the israelí state show is trust worthy? I know you know deep down that Palestinians have suffer basically an ethnic "cleanse" genocide for the past half century.
Im not pro Hamas, I will never be pro war, its 2023, the world should be able to fix problems through diplomacy. But, this situation for Palestinians is not new, and as the world revolves about the idea of jewish "chooseness" and they keep occupying palestinians land, keeping them in an open air prison, abusing their human rights and treating them as second class people, all of the sudden I kind of understand where groups like Hamas begin to appear. Its what happened all over South America after the US put in place horrible and criminal military governments that did horrible things to people in the name of keeping comunism out of "their backyard". Armed militias like Montoneros in Argentina, Tupamaros in Uruguay started to flourish in response to DECADES of oppresion and crimes agaisnt humanity.
Again, Im not a Hamas apologist at all, Im not anti Israel, but I can understand that after half a century of occupation and persecution you start to get really desperate, people start to give up hope.
And when you have lived most of your life (if not all) being treated like an animal and you got no hope that things will change for the better, at least for the future of your children, then you've got nothing else to loose. Hamas feeds out of people that really have nothing else to loose.
And that is the most dangerous part.

  2. Oh my God, what is even more terrifying is that Israel kills people and says that it was Hamas's work. You know that so far the attacks of Israeli fighters have killed 4000 innocent people. They are bombing houses without any shame. Who controls these media?

  3. Biden & the DOD actively lied to the world about the hospital bombing, new footage shows Israeli jets flaring before dropping the bomb, the government is trying to aid the IDF in hiding their actions.

  5. The Israeli state have alleged that this is a misfired rocket, aimed at Haifa by PIJ. Tal Hagnin, an investigator involved in assessing the impact site, has pointed to an R-160 misfire as being the likely cause.

The R-160 missile; a recognised part of Hamas’ arsenal, but not PIJ’s, the group that have thus far been implicated. The missile was alleged to have been aimed at Haifa. Setting aside that the R-160 isn’t part of PIJ’s arsenal, why would they fire a missile at a city 150km away from the alleged launch spot, when the max range is 160km. Particularly with the Israeli ID defence system in mind, that is too much of a margin of failure to make any strategic sense (simply put, a waste of a relatively rare resource); moreover bearing in mind the proximity of Haifa to the border with Lebanon, the next likely front. Why stretch the focus when Tel Aviv et al are more proximal? It doesn't add up.

Then there’s the mobile phone intercepts (more "proof") … Hamas and PIJ have been doing this for a long time; they don’t use mobile phones (the allegation); they are more likely to use handheld transceivers. And they certainly wouldn’t disclose the firing location of a rocket, particularly using traceable communications tech. It simply isn’t consistent with the tradecraft. Pending confirmation of fabricated evidence, this audio clip is patently inadmissible (see link below).

Added to this – a preceding ultimatum by the Israeli to inhabitants of ALL buildings in northern Gaza (including the al-Ahli hospital site) to evacuate. Furthermore, the fact that the hospital had already been targeted. The lack of coverage on this point isn’t merely concerning, it is sinister.

As for the observer – ask yourself – would Israel own up to a 400+ civilian body-count in a hospital under ANY circumstances? What about the UN school that was hit a few hours earlier? Or the Greek Orthodox church hit thereafter … or the … I’m losing count – we’re talking about >6000 bombs dropped in a fortnight in one of the most densely populated places on the planet … it IS by any definition, a civilian target in its entirety, An area with an average occupancy of 5,500 per square kilometre brings with it a statistical inevitability of civilian casualties! No “human shield” rhetoric can circumnavigate that fact.

Update: Forensic Architecture, Earshot and the Ramallah based NGO Al Haq have shared new information with Channel 4 News they say casts doubt on some aspects of Israel’s account. Critically, Doppler mapping of the missile’s trajectory points to it arriving via the East (i.e. Israel) and not the South West, which is the Israeli state’s contention. Additionally, analysis of the alleged audio intercept. Details here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVQALHmgo8U
