  2. What was the yardstick for awarding honorary doctorate degree to the former federal minister of works?
I believe he does not deserve such a prestigious honor from the University of Benin. Even though he was a former student of the University.
Because he did not contribute to the upgrading of the university, and Edo State during his tenure as the federal minister of works.
In fact, Edo State saw the greatest deterioration of federal roads in the history of the country.
Also, roads that were under construction were abandoned by him.
Therefore, it was a mistake and bad decision by the university of Benin to honor him.
And as for the wife of the governor of Edo State, she deserved the honor because of her contribution in highlighting the immoral maltreatments of women in the society.
Including her husband contribution in the upgrading of the University infrastructure, in spite of the fact that the University is under federal government control.
He went out of his way to use Edo State taxpayers money to upgrade the University.
