Benue APC Crisis Deepens as Ward Exco Suspends State Chairman
The crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has escalated as the APC Ehaje Ward 1 in Owukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area, passed a vote of no confidence on the state chairman, Austin Agada. The ward exco also suspended Agada, accusing him of anti-party activities and ignoring an invitation by the exco. In response, Agada declared the suspension null and void, claiming that the purported chairman of the exco signing the statement had ceased to be the ward chairman since December 10, 2023, and is currently a supervisory councillor in Ogbadibo Local Government. Agada argued that the suspension was a nullity and emphasized the need to follow party procedures in disciplining members.
The crisis adds to the challenges facing the APC in Benue State and highlights internal divisions within the party. It remains to be seen how the national working committee of the APC will address the situation and whether efforts to resolve the internal conflicts will be successful.(@NaijaAnchorNews ) #benuesstatenews, #austunagada , #nigeria #latestnewstoday #latest #tinubu
