Popular Nigerian influencer, Tunde Ednut has responded to the birthday message from Peter Obi, the 2023 Presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP.

Recall that the LP flag bearer had taken to his X account to congratulate Ednut on his birthday.

He praised him for using his influence to help numerous emerging Nigerian comedians, musicians, and other creatives into the spotlight.

Obi wrote, “I extend my heartfelt birthday wishes to the remarkable Nigerian entertainment blogger and global internet influencer, Tunde Olaoluwa Adekunle, widely known as ‘Tunde Ednut’, as he celebrates his 38th birthday. Despite his relatively young age, he has leveraged his internet expertise and influence to propel numerous emerging Nigerian comedians, musicians, and other creative artists into the spotlight. This has significantly expanded Nigeria’s creative output, which serves as a crucial source of foreign exchange for our country.”

Reacting to the birthday wish from the former governor, Tunde took to his Instagram account to show his appreciation.

However, he explained to Obi that he is not a blogger.

Tunde wrote, “This is huge for me, wow I am very honoured sir, wow, Thank you, but sir I am not a blogger sir, I am an entertainer sir.”

Former Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has responded to a man who stated that the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi would have turned the forest used by bandits for kidnapping and their criminal activities into a National Park.

It started when the man claimed that Peter Obi would have been dealt with kidnapping a lot better if he were to be the President of Nigeria.

The man tweeted;

‘’Imagine if HE Peter Obi is president and you kidnap a whole family and run to the forest …. That will mean the end of existence of that forest.

After rescue, It will be turned to National Park and amusement center in a matter of days!

That’s what serious Presidents do.”

Responding, Bashir wrote;

‘’Did you know that during Peter Obi’s tenure as governor of Anambra, the state’s former deputy governor, Dr. Chudi Nwike, was kidnapped, taken to a forest, and killed, even after the victim’s family paid a ransom? The only reason I won’t ever pray for Peter Obi’s presidency is because it is taboo to wish bad things upon your own country.”

He congratulated her after she was appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Academic (DVCA) at the University of Kigali (UoK), Rwanda.

In a Twitter post, Obi wrote:

I heartily congratulate Professor Ogechi Adeola, a Nigerian, recently appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Academic (DVCA) at the University of Kigali (UoK), Rwanda, by the Governing Body of the University.

Prof Adeola’s appointment at the University of Kigali (UoK), is an obvious connection and reward to her hard work and track record of brilliance and success. Her story, therefore, reminds us that Nigeria has an abundance of talents, which when nurtured under productive leadership, will transform our nation. Peter Obi Mourns Victims Of Osun Filling Station Explosion, Rivers, Anambra Boat Mishaps

Peter Obi, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has reacted to the filling station explosion which led to the demise of many students in Osun state.

The former Anambra governor also mourned those who lost their lives in the recent Anambra and Rivers boat mishap.

Mourning the victims in a statement made available on his official X account, Obi charged relevant agencies to ensure that all their operations meet the required safety standards for the good of the people.

The statement by Obi on Friday read, “The reports of an explosion that occurred at a petrol station in Ile Ife, Osun state which caused different degrees of injury to at least 26 students of Obafemi Awolowo University, saddens my heart incredibly. My heart goes out to the affected students and the Institution as I pray to God to grant them perfect healing of mind and body.

“In a related development, l also commiserate with the families who lost their loved ones to the recent boat mishaps that occurred in Rivers and Anambra States. About 28 lives were reportedly lost to both accidents.

“These deeply troubling news of the loss of lives and serious injuries to our brothers, sisters, and children need to be addressed, to forestall future occurrences.

“The life of every Nigerian must be jealously guarded and protected by ensuring that the highest safety standards are observed in public spaces and transportation in every aspect and space of our national life. Considering the recurrent nature of these tragic incidents, I sincerely urge the relevant agencies to ensure that all their operations meet the required safety standards for the good of the people. May such painful incidents never befall us again. I commiserate with the bereaved families and pray for eternal rest for the dead and quick recovery for the injured.”

He posted a video of Peter Obi disembarking from the private jet alongside his running mate in the 2023 presidential election, Datti Baba-Ahmed, and wrote

Peter Obi, Datti Visit Kano, Condole With Na’Abba’s Family

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the last general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, and his running mate, Datti Ahmed, have visited the family of the late Speaker Ghali Umar Na’abba in Kano State to offer their condolences.

The duo were at Na’Abba’s residence around 1pm on Saturday in company with other politicians and party members.

Speaking shortly after praying with the family members, Obi said the deceased “was one of those Nigerians that cared about unity and progress of the country.”

“He has always been consistent in it. Those who always think about the progress of the people have no legacy other than that and that is why we are here to condole and show solidarity with his family at this hour, the good people of Kano and Nigerians in general.

“That is why we strive every day to have better people. God Almighty will give us other people to fill up his place. May God grant him eternal rest.”

Daily Trust reported that the former Speaker died in the early hours of Wednesday at a hospital in Abuja and was flown back to Kano for burial.

Seasoned politicians, captains of industries and other prominent personalities from all walks of life have been trooping into the state and his residence to register their tribute.

‘Stop Dancing N*ked In Public’ – Presidency Cautions Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, has been cautioned by the Presidency to refrain from “dancing naked in the public square” regarding the significant delegation accompanying President Bola Tinubu to the Climate Change Conference, COP28, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Obi had accused Tinubu’s government of wasting scarce resources by taking a large number of delegates to COP28.

A list published by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) said out of 81,027 delegates registered to attend the summit in person, Nigeria had 1,411 participants.

Obi and some Nigerians had criticized Tinubu over the large delegation.

However, the spokesperson of Vice President Kashim Shettima, Stanley Nkwocha, said Obi was trying to convince Nigerians that he is the only person who has their interest at heart.

In a statement on X, Nkwocha wrote: “We have taken note of statements credited to presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi, in which he made yet another frail and futile attempt to paint the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration in bad light.

“For good 24 hours, Obi danced n*ked in the public square, trying to curry the attention of those who care to listen to his falsehood and warped opinions about waste.

“On Sunday, he accused the current administration of sponsoring over 1,400 delegates to Dubai for COP28.

“The next day, being Monday, the subject of his new found passion – armchair criticism – after his colossal loss at the presidential poll was the proposed N15.5billion budgeted by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to renovate the house of the Vice President, which he claimed would pay the annual salary of 3,000 University Professors.”

The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

According to the apex court, the appeal lacks merit.

The seven-man panel led by Justice Inyang Okoro held that the appeal lacked merit and “is hereby dismissed”.

Obi, in his notice of appeal, implored the highest court to overturn the PEPT’s September 6 decision, which upheld President Tinubu’s victory.

But the panel in a unanimous judgment on Thursday held that the appeal lacked merit and ought to be dismissed.

Giving ruling, the Supreme Court said:

“Double nomination ought not to have come to this Court. The Court cannot sit and begin to explain when this man resigned and when there was a fresh Primary.

There is an end to litigation. The issue of double nomination was rested in May.

All other grounds were dealt with in the Atiku’s appeal and apply to this mutantis mutandis.

This appeal lacks merit.”

Nigeria Can’t Develop With More Than Half of Population Living in Poverty – Peter Obi

Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi has revealed why it may be difficult for Nigeria to develop as a country.

According to Obi, Nigeria can’t develop when more than half of the country’s population live in poverty.

Obi, who spoke on Tuesday in a statement released to mark this year’s World International Day for the Eradication of poverty, described the high rate of poverty in the country as a threat to national security.

As part of efforts to eradicate poverty, Obi urged governments at all levels to take urgent and positive actions to invest in healthcare and education.

He said: “As we mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty today, I restate my unwavering commitment and desire to pull millions of Nigerians out of poverty as part of my mission in the New Nigeria.

“Our beloved country Nigeria is today, regrettably, known as ‘the poverty capital’ of the World.

“According to the World Poverty Clock, over 71 million Nigerians live in extreme poverty today and a total of 133 million people, 63 percent of the population, are classed as multidimensionally poor according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

“No nation can develop with more than half of its population living in poverty.

“According to Oxfam, the richest 0.003 percent of Nigerians, 6,355 individuals worth $5 million and above, have 1.4 times more wealth than 107 million other Nigerians. This high rate of poverty and gross income inequality, are obviously a threat to national prosperity , security and development.

“Investing in small businesses across the country has shown to be the fastest way of lifting people out of poverty, as has been proven by other comparable economies like India, Bangladesh, China etc.

“According to the United Nations, India lifted approximately 415 million individuals out of poverty between 2000 and 2021. They achieved this remarkable milestone by reducing their global Multidimensional Poverty Index.

“I, respectfully appeal to our Governments, at all levels, to take urgent and positive actions by reforming and investing in critical areas of development; health, education, and lifting people out of poverty.

“This remains my mission in the New Nigeria because it is possible.”
