In a bid to quell anger, the Nigerian government is trying to convince its citizens to not hit the streets by offering concessions. In the latest, the Tinubu government is offering jobs in the state oil company along with billions of naira worth of grants among other incentives to discourage protests. For the first time in nearly a decade, Nigeria’s state oil firm posted new vacancies.
