Daniel Bwala, a former lawmaker, has criticised the quality of the boreholes donated by Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Bwala said the boreholes are repugnant to natural justice, equity and good conscience.

Bwala claimed that Water Corporation in Anambra State when Obi was a governor was not in a good state.

Recall that the former Anambra State governor recently concluded his visit to the 19 states in the northern part of the country.

Obi also donated boreholes to some of the communities in Kaduna, Sokoto and others.

The gesture has attracted commendations from many Nigerians but it has not gone down well with some individuals, including Bwala.

The former lawmaker posted on his X handle: “You only need to see @PeterObi water corporation when he was a governor to understand why he sponsored that borehole that is repugnant to natural justice, equity and good conscience.

“That is his style of governance. You cannot give what you don’t have. I am so happy that the demographics he deceived in the 2023 elections are wiser now.”

He claimed that Obi, during his time as the governor of Anambra, grew the state debt stock by over 1000% from under N16 million that it was before he took office to over N3 billion by the time he handed over.

Daniel Bwala, a former spokesperson for the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign council, has taken a swipe at Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, over the statement he made about the borrowings by the Tinubu-led administration.

Recall that the former Governor of Anambra State said he is really worried about the country’s persistent borrowings with its galloping rate over the years.

In a series of posts via his official X handle on Tuesday, Obi said he is more concerned that loans have not been used judiciously or on investments as required by the law.

Obi stated that over N23 trillion Ways and Means borrowed by the last administration would have been the end of borrowing without any visible and corresponding investment and benefit to the nation.

Reacting in a post via his X handle on Wednesday, Bwala said the former governor does not have the moral right to condemn President Bola Tinubu for borrowing externally.

He claimed that Obi, during his time as the governor of Anambra, grew the state debt stock by over 1000% from under N16 million that it was before he took office to over N3 billion by the time he handed over.

Daniel Bwala, a former spokesperson of Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has stated that Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is hunted by a ghost that he created.

Bwala, a supporter of President Bola Tinubu, was reacting to Obi’s latest threat to dump the LP if the internal crisis rocking the party continues before the 2027 general elections.

The former Anambra State governor had vowed “not to die” with the party, hence his decision to leave if the issues can’t be resolved.

Reacting in a post via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, Bwala said Obi is hunted by a ghost he created in the Labour Party.

He said Obi had sensed the obvious that the Labour Party would not give him an automatic ticket and had, therefore, threatened to leave the party if he was not chosen in 2027.

Bwala also claimed that Obi is in a quagmire because the Social Democratic Party (SDP) he intends to join does not have an automatic ticket for him.

He wrote: “The presidential candidate of the @NgLabour at the 2023 elections @PeterObi is hunted by a ghost that he created. Sensing the obvious in the Labour Party to the effect that there is no automatic ticket, he has therefore threatened that if the party would not conform, he would leave.

“The Social Democratic Party, which he hopes to use the platform when the need arises, doesn’t give automatic tickets. Peter Obi feared that he may likely not win delegate election because he is not a grassroot politician, he is presently in a quagmire

“A former president is reported to be having it very difficult convincing nation’s statesmen to support the move because they prefer to give @officialABAT his due time to reform Nigeria.”



Bwala alleged that Obi was advised immediately to start a campaign and woo the core of northern Nigeria as well as the Muslim communities across the nation ahead of the 2027 election.

He added, “Peter Obi was reported as being advised immediately to start a campaign and woo the core of northern Nigeria as well as the Muslim communities across the nation to disprove the notion that he uses identity politics.

“He has since commenced the exercise, but it is feared that the foreign media which packaged him in the last election consider him as too difficult to re-brand based on analytics on his chances.

“His base called the ‘Obedient’ people made it clear to him that they would not accept any merger that will extinguish his presidential bid. He is between the devil and deep blue sea.”

Daniel Bwala, former spokesperson for the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation, has claimed that there is a current scheme by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 Presidential Election, to abandon LP and align with Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, in the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

In a post on his X handle on Friday, Bwala alleged that Obi was perfecting plans to take leave of the LP as a result of the seemingly intractable conflict between the party leadership and the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

Recall that Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party to join the LP in May 2023 ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Bwala, in a post on his X handle. wrote, “Peter Obi @PeterObi allegedly planning to unite with El-rufai @elrufai in Social Democratic Party as Nigerian Labour Congress set to take ownership and custody of their political party, the @NgLabour.

“Recall that there was a judgment of court that states that Nigeria Labour Congress owns Labour Party. NLC is now prepared to take custody of that party.

“Twist and turns in the coming days. But all that will not give sleepless night to @officialABAT who himself has his magic wands to wield.”

When contacted, Chief Spokesman for the Obi/ Datti Presidential Campaign, Dr. Yunusa Tanko dismissed Bwala’s assertion as “a figment of his immagination.”

He said, “Ordinarily, we wouldn’t respond to this fiction. he (Bwala) is a politician who wants to remain relevant in the scheme of things. We’ve responded to the false narrative of our leader leaving the Labour Party in the past, this position has not changed.”

El-Rufai was sighted at the national secretariat of the Social Democratic Party, in Abuja, on Wednesday.

The Ex-Kaduna State Governor and APC chieftain was sighted in a viral video on social media during his consultation visit to the national chairman of the SDP, Alhaji Shehu Gabam.

Not much was heard from El-Rufai after the Senate refused to confirm his ministerial nomination in 2023.

After the screening of the 49 ministerial nominees sent by President Bola Tinubu, the Senate also declined to confirm the appointment of former Deputy Governor of Taraba State and another ministerial nominee from the state, Senator Abubakar Danladi.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, explained the Senate did not clear the nominees because of adverse security reports against them.

Daniel Bwala, a former spokesperson of former Vice-president, Atiku Abubakar has lambasted Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, stating that he is an opportunist.

Bwala, in a post on Wednesday via his X account, said Peter Obi is like a predator who takes advantage of the vulnerabilities of Nigerians to promote his own agenda.

He said the LP candidate hides under the cloak of things like religion, ethnicity and natural disasters to play opportunism while pretending to be playing opposition.

“Obi does not play opposition, but opportunism. He takes advantage of vulnerabilities of the nation and its people like a predator. He uses religion, ethnicity, natural disasters and even sports. Until NFF supporters’ club members told him to “F” off,” Bwala wrote.

Earlier on Tuesday, Bwala also accused Obi of just pretending to care for the masses. He made an allusion suggesting that the former Anambra State Governor does not pay workers in his company very well and knows nothing about governance.

“Peter Obi wants to govern Nigeria using catchphrases and buzzwords; consumption to production; China, Malaysia, Egypt etc. What the “F” does he know about governance? Pretending he cares for poor masses, go and ask how much he pays his staff in all his companies; and come back and explain to me the true meaning of modern day slavery,” Bwala wrote.
