In this week in review of the Honorable Minister of Sports Development Senator John Owan Enoh, we shall be looking at a couple of events beginning from the 1st of October, 2023 to 6th of October,, 2023.
Honorable Minister of Sports Development tees off the independence day golf tournament at the IBB International Golf and Country Club.
The tournament had golfers from Ghana, Uganda , Cameroon and Nigeria,with over 500 registered participants.
Senator Enoh pointed to the fact that sports breeds social inclusiveness , enables diplomacy amongst countries, fosters friendship and business networks .
The Honourable Minister went on an inspection tour of the Nigeria Sports Hall of Fame which was established to celebrate the finest sports legends and icons who have outstanding records of success in their various sporting careers and to honour sports philanthropists.
The minister reechoed the need to preserve sports legacies and history. He further called for a detailed brief of the hall of fame to enable appropriate interventions in developing it.
Sports Minister Postulates Growth of eSports in Nigeria, stating that Nigeria is enthusiastic about the potential of eSports, also known as electronic sports or gaming sports.
The Minister made the assertion during a meeting with organized Nigerian eSports proponents, led by Mr. Clinton Agbor Ayuk, at his office in Abuja.
Honourable Minister meets with the leadership of the Nigerian Football Federation, NPFL Club Owners’ Association, as well as the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA), to deliberate on key issues necessary for the development of the NPFL and football in the country.
