Nigeria’s Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club have continued their winning form at the 2024 Sahara Conference of the Basketball Africa League , BAL, held in Senegal’s capital, Dakar.

Rivers opened their campaign over the weekend with a 77-68 win over the host team, who were also finalists in last year’s BAL, AS Douanes. The Nigerian team played again on May 5 where they picked up their second conference victory after they beat Rwanda’s Armée Patriotique Rwandaise 86-82.

Rivers currently top the Sahara conference table. As Douanes are second after they beat Tunisia’s U.S. Monastir 76-59 on Sunday, marking this their first conference victory in two games. Armée Patriotique Rwandaise occupy third place and the North Africans are fourth place having lost their first two games of the conference.
