If you believed Oshodi was a Yoruba name, you were mistaken. Oshodi was named after a man from Bida, which is today known as Niger state. There are different theories about who this man was, but the term translates to “the royal chamberlain”. 

Oshodi is essentially a crossroads for many marketplaces. Most of the time, when people hear the term “Oshodi,” they think of the phrase “market.” Oshodi main market, Taiwo Supermarket, Temple Hills Supermarket, Hyco Supermarket, and other shopping malls provide reasonably priced commodities.

Oshodi offers a good number of standard estates with appropriate infrastructure to suit the demands of all residents. Ajao Estate, Ashamu Estate, Peace Estate, Igala Estate, Jakande Estate, and Godmon Estate are a few of them.
