The popular hair vendor, Jennifer Diala, has replied critics castigating her over a trending video where was seen cutting part of a Vietnamese girl’s hair for sale.

In the video, which surfaced on X, Diala was filmed confirming to her prospects that she deals in only authentic natural hair.

Nigerians took to social media to express their disgust at the viral video and called for the arrest of the hair vendor.

Taking her own Instagram page on Tuesday, Diala released a video explaining the reason the Asian girl’s hair was cut, urging Nigerians to seek more information before calling people out.

According to the hair vendor, she has been in this business for ten years, and nothing she did in the viral video was a problem.

Diala stated that it was strictly business, while her partner in the video explained that these ‘raw hair donors’ are paid for their donation.

She said: “Most of the people who viewed the video claimed I abused a child.

“It’s starting to bother me as I do not understand why people do not ask questions before they jump to conclusions. I am here to debunk the claims online.

“In Vietnam, 80% of people live by selling hair; that is what they do for a living here.

“Nigerians do not have hair; most black people suffer from hair problems, so people like us went into this business to beautify people, and I don’t think that’s a problem.

I personally have been in this business for ten years and have sourced hair in multiple countries, including India, China, Cambodia, Vietnam and even Indonesia. I have been on tour, studying hair business, and it’s been many years of experience.

“I did not bump into anyone and cut her hair. The child’s mother brought the child to cut her hair, as they were already making plans to cut the hair.

“We are here for business, and it is strictly business. For everything we have done in the process of coming here, it’s been exchanged for money; nothing is free.

I thought to take advantage of the situation when the girl’s mother brought her here so I could educate fellow Nigerians.”
