Hundreds of prisoners have escaped from the medium federal correctional center in Kabba, Kogi state.
The facility was attacked by yet to be identified gunmen and 240 inmates were forcefully released.
The attackers in their number arrived at the Custodial Centre, heavily armed and immediately engaged the armed guards in a fierce gun battle.
A Soldier and a Mobile Police Personnel unfortunately lost their lives in the encounter.
