Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar’s media aide, Daniel Bwala, has commended Bola Tinubu for suspending the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, over alleged financial misconduct.

Leaked documents exposed Edu’s involvement in directing a substantial sum into a private account, prompting Tinubu to take action. The suspended minister is now under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bwala praised Tinubu’s decisive response, highlighting a contrast with ex-President Buhari’s approach, emphasizing Tinubu’s unwillingness to shield appointees involved in fraudulent activities.

Addressing concerns beyond the Humanitarian Ministry, Bwala warned of a potential threat to national security, emphasizing the need for vigilance against corruption within the government.

Reacting to Edu’s suspension, Bwala posted on X: “Again @officialABAT is showing that when there is a credible substance in an allegation he will act in public interest. He has suspended the beauty pageant minister. Give it to him.

“What has clearly distinguished @officialABAT from his predecessor @MBuhari is that President Tinubu does not look like one prepared to defend appointee caught with his/her hands in the cookie’s jar ( at least for now)

“But if anyone thinks this alleged corruption only exists in the Humanitarian Ministry, that person is clearly a comedian.

“There appears to be a determination cooked with a sense of urgency by some corrupt appointees to pounce on our commonwealth like a bulldog that has found the last borne on the planet earth. This is a national security threat.”
