The United States has advised its citizens in Nigeria to avoid traveling to 18 states in the country to witness terrorism, kidnapping, and other violent crimes.
The US government in a release by its Department of state identified the states as Borno, Yobe, Kogi, Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara states.
It also advised against traveling to the southern states of Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Enugu, Imo, and Rivers states due to crime, kidnapping, and activities of armed gangs.
