Despite being a staunch supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie still holds affection for Tinubu’s opponent, Peter Obi.
During the election, Yul Edochie, like many others, openly supported Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party. Surprisingly, the actor has switched sides to President Tinubu following his victory.
Yul Edochie, a father of five, stated that although he now supports Tinubu, he still maintains respect for Peter Obi and would never insult him.
He believes that Peter Obi is a remarkable Nigerian and that his time will come if it is God’s will. However, for now, it is Jagaban’s time, and the next 8 years are dedicated to him.
Yul remains confident that President Tinubu will effectively address Nigeria’s challenges for the betterment of its citizens.
“I have a lot of respect for Peter Obi. I will never insult him. He’s a great Nigerian. His time will come if God Almighty wills it. This time is for Jagaban. The next 8 years are for President Tinubu. And within that time, He will fix Nigeria for the good of all Nigerians.”
The divorced actor made headlines a few weeks ago when he gave himself a new name and unabashedly declared his love for President Tinubu.
To show his affection, he shared a photo of himself wearing a Tinubu-inspired outfit. The actor donned a native top with the President’s face printed on it.
Yul, now self-proclaimed as Asiwaju Baby, unapologetically expressed his unwavering love for Tinubu and stated that he believes in him and prays for his success.
In another post, he declared his support for Tinubu based on his belief that he is a wise leader.
Yul emphasized that Tinubu, as a leader, possesses information that the citizens are not privy to, which may explain why some of his decisions may not be fully understood by the public.
His consistent public endorsement of the President has ignited various reactions and discussions among Nigerians and netizens.
