The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), for demanding that President Bola Tinubu explain his identity to Nigerians.

According to the ruling party, Obi’s statements are reminiscent of Atiku Abubakar’s broken voice notes, the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The APC spokesperson, Felix Morka, stated this in a statement released on Wednesday night.

Morka described Obi as a confused mind who echoed a script written by Atiku Abubakar, his senior partner and ally on a futile journey.

He stated, “At his press conference earlier today, Mr. Obi blathered on about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s identity and academic record, like a broken voice note of Atiku Abubakar, cutting a pitiful profile as though forced to read a prepared statement by his unimaginative handlers, and mendacious associates in the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.”

Morka further noted that Obi joined Atiku’s campaign of defamation against President Bola Tinubu regarding his certificate from the Chicago State University, even after his party, the Labour Party, had distanced itself from Atiku’s call to action.

He criticized Obi for demanding that the President reintroduce himself to Nigerians, implying that the 8.9 million Nigerians who voted for him in the last election were unaware of his identity.

Part of the statement said, “Mr. Obi must know that President Tinubu does not need a re-introduction. He does not have any identity problem, except the one contrived by the Atikus and Peters of our political firmament.”

The APC listed President Tinubu’s various accomplishments and roles in his career, including his time as a Senator and a former Governor of Lagos State.

The statement also mentioned that the Chicago State University had confirmed President Tinubu’s academic record and released his transcript, which showed excellent performance.

Morka condemned the actions of Atiku and Obi, accusing them of manipulating the public space with issues currently before the court.

The APC urged Nigerians to denounce their conduct and threatened to bring Obi and Atiku to justice for their contemptuous behavior.

The statement emphasized that the office of the President should be filled by the people’s lawful votes and not through intimidation or blackmail.

The APC maintained that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was duly elected by the people to serve as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
