The Supreme Court panel has set time frame to hear the appeal related to the decision of the Presidential Election Petitions Court headed by Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

The PEPC delivered a 12-hour ruling on the appeals resulting from the presidential election of February 25, 2023 on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, upholding the election of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.

Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the respective presidential contenders for the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party, disagreed with the court’s ruling and vowed to appeal it to the Supreme Court.

They had 14 days from the day the judgment was delivered to file their appeal at the apex court

The deadline of 14 days expires on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court on Friday disclosed that Ariwoola had not yet appointed the panel of the top court that will hear the appeals, despite the fact that their legal teams are working incredibly hard to meet the deadline.

The panel will be assembled by the CJN at the latest on Wednesday, when the deadline for filing appeals expires, according to additional research.
