President Bola Tinubu has denounced the appalling attacks that ravaged Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas in Plateau State, resulting in a significant loss of life.
The state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, reported a staggering toll of over 115 lives lost during the overnight assault that spilled into Christmas Day.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, conveyed the president’s directive to swiftly deploy security agencies to comb every inch of the affected region and bring the culprits to justice.
He said the President mandated the immediate mobilisation of relief efforts and medical aid for the surviving victims and the injured.
Assuring Nigerians of justice, President Tinubu pledged that those responsible for spreading death and anguish would not evade accountability.
The Northern Senators Forum, representing the 19 northern states, issued a collective plea to the Federal Government, urging it to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those responsible for the heinous killings in Jos, Plateau State.
The senators also stressed the importance of learning from investigative reports on similar incidents to prevent future occurrences.
Senator Kawu Sumaila, speaking on behalf of the Northern Senators Forum, expressed deep sorrow for the tragedy that befell Plateau State.
Furthermore, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, joined in condemning the violent attacks, offering prayers for solace to the affected families.

Peter Obi, former Labour Party presidential candidate, on his official X account, empathised with the victims and strained security agencies, highlighting recent violent incidents nationwide.
Obi acknowledged Nigeria’s challenging times and urged national healing through continued prayers.
“Even some countries in open wars have not experienced this level of insecurity, violence and loss of human lives. Let us continue to pray for our nation that God will heal our land,” he added.
