The PPP candidates for NA-175, Mehr Irshad Sial, and PP-269, Alamdar Hussain Qureshi, have garnered essential backing from influential figures within the constituency.
Mehr Irshad Sial, who secured the seat in the previous general elections against independent candidate Jamshed Dasti and PML-N’s Hammad Nawaz Tippu, faces a challenge this time from PTI-backed candidate Jamshed Dasti and PML-N’s Hammad Nawaz Tippu.
On the other hand, Alamdar Qureshi, an independent candidate who has consistently held the seat in the last two elections, joined PPP this time with support from MNA candidates Raza Rabbani Khar and Mehr Irshad Sial. In his bid, Alamdar Qureshi will compete against Mr. Pittafi and PML-N’s Manzoor Ahmed Chandia.
The primary contenders are perceived to be Mehr Irshad Sial and PTI’s Dasti, while Hammad Nawaz Tippu may face challenges due to PML-N infighting, according to political observers.
