A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has said that Peter Obi of the Labour Party would have been the vice president of Nigeria if he hadn’t taken advice from a mad man.

Omokri was referring to an infamous statement made by Obi during the presidential campaign period where he said he got an advice from a mentally ill man during his time as governor of Anambra State.

Knocking him on Sunday, Omokri said if Obi had stayed at the PDP, he would by now be the Vice President of Nigeria as he would have been Atiku Abubakar’s running mate, like in the 2019 presidential election.

He wrote, “But for his hubris, Peter Obi may have been Nigeria’s vice President today, with a good chance of taking over from Waziri Atiku Abubakar in 2031.

But he took advice from a madman at upper Iweka. And foolishly believed that a united Peoples Democratic Party that could not defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2019 could now divide in 2023 and conquer the APC that we could not defeat when we were united.

“Did I not say it before? A trader is different from a leader. Peter Obi will lose at the Supreme Court. He will lose if he runs again in 2027. And he will keep on losing until he either gets tired of losing or running. “
