The Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the February 2023 General election, Mr. Peter Obi has described the Ex-Speaker of House of Representatives Ghali Umar Na’Abba as great Nigerian who gave his best for the growth of democracy in the Country.

Obi, former Anambra State Governor, made the eulogy at the Kano residence of the late Ex-Speaker Saturday, on condolence visit to the family of the deceased.

Na’Abba died on Wednesday at the National hospital, Abuja after a protracted illness at the age of 65. He had since buried the same day in Kano according to Islamic rite.

Obi who was in Kano in company of his presidential running mate, Datti Ahmad Baba contended that Na’Abba stood for unity and progress of Nigeria, which is the best legacy any person can offer the Country.

The LP presidential candidate regretted that while the nation was grasping with the shock of Na’Abba’s passage, the demised of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, now former Governor of Ondo state broke, noting that Nigeria would missed the valuable contributions of the two nationalists.

“For someone who think about the unity and progress of Nigeria, I don’t think there can be any legacy anyone can impact more on the nation than what these two persons have given in their lives time.

“Alh. Na’Abba was a good man. He has given his all to Nigeria and that is the reason why I’m here to show solidarity and condole with the family over the irreplaceable lose. He was a good man who lived for better and balance Nigeria,” Obi noted.

Reacting to the recent killings of innocent lives in Plateau state, Obi worried over needless clashes leading to ugly murder of women and children in the communities.

He called for people of Jos to lean how to live in peace and unity.
