Peter Obi Mourns the Passing of Nollywood Legend Mr Ibu

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, famously known as Mr Ibu.

In a heartfelt condolence message shared on his social media platform, Obi described Mr Ibu’s death as a significant loss not only to the entertainment industry but also to the entire nation.

Obi’s tweet, posted on Sunday, emphasized the crucial role artists like Mr Ibu play in bringing joy and lightening the mood of the nation, especially during challenging times.

Obi extended his condolences to Mr Ibu’s bereaved family, the Actors Guild of Nigeria, and the entire Nollywood community, which has been mourning the loss of two legendary actors within a short span.

His tweet partly read, “His death is very saddening. He was one legendary comic actor who embodied laughter, exuded joy, and spread happiness.”

“When sadly he took ill, we all prayed for his quick recovery and hoped he would bounce back in good health.”

“His death is a huge loss, not just to the entertainment industry, but to the nation.”

“Those artists who lighten the mood of the nation also perform a great task of helping us all to weather the dark storms of life.”
