In a recent post on his X handle, Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the previous presidential election, expressed his belief that Nigerians, despite their immense talent, productivity, and progressiveness, are being held back by leadership failure.

Obi conveyed this message while congratulating Prof. Chika Unigwe for receiving two global honorary distinctions in recognition of her artistic and literary contributions to Belgium.

Prof. Unigwe was honored with a Knight of the Order of the Crown and a Proclamation/Oorkonde by the Christoffel Plantin Fonds, a fact that came as no surprise to the former Anambra State governor. He expressed his long-held confidence in the creative and productive nature of Nigerians.

Obi emphasized the numerous inspiring stories of Nigerians making a global impact as potential signs of the emergence of a “New Nigeria.” He also posited that the brain drain currently experienced in the country could eventually transform into its brain gain in the future.
