Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has issued a passionate plea to the Federal Government, urging swift action to rescue the remaining five daughters of Al-Kadriyar who were abducted by terrorists in Abuja. The tragic incident involved the kidnapping of six daughters of Mansoor Al-Kadriyar, with the terrorists demanding a N60 million ransom. The eldest daughter, Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, was killed, and the remaining sisters face a dire situation with threats of further violence if the ransom is not paid.

Expressing his concern on Twitter, Peter Obi highlighted the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that the reported killing of Nabeeha reflects the pervasive insecurity gripping the nation. He underscored the responsibility of leaders to protect every Nigerian citizen, and the heartbreaking trauma faced by the Al-Kadriyar family should prompt a collective response to the security challenges faced by the nation.

In a related development, Peter Obi expressed distress over the reported arson on the palace of the Traditional Ruler of Isseke Community in Anambra State, HRH Igwe Emmanuel Nnabuife. He emphasized the need for increased efforts by the government and security agencies to secure the release of the remaining family members in captivity, ensure national security, and protect every Nigerian citizen. Concluding his statement, Obi extended his condolences to the bereaved family, praying for Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar’s eternal rest and the freedom of the remaining family members.
