The 2023 Labor Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, has condemned renewed violent attacks in Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State, claiming no less than twelve lives.

In a statement shared on Plateau. State University, in the Bokkos area of the state, leaving many with varying degrees of injuries.

“These continued waves of attacks in Plateau State and in every part of the nation continue to alarm every well-meaning Nigerian.

“It was also reported that Plateau State University had just been closed due to increased levels of insecurity in the area.

“And I ask: How long will we have to bear this burden of uncertainty before we take purposefully calculated measures to end the threat?

“How far must the value of human life fall before we, the leaders, begin to frown upon the wanton loss of life in our nation?

“I once again sympathize with the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and the good people of Plateau State, over these sad incidents.

“My heart goes out to families in Plateau and other parts of the country who have lost their loved ones due to insecurity in our country.

“No matter how dark the night, we must remain united and optimistic in our struggle for a more peaceful and secure Nigeria where every Nigerian will feel free to live and prosper. May God grant eternal rest to the dead.”
