Peter Obi Denies Leaving Labour Party


Presidential candidiate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, has officially refuted rumours suggesting his departure from the party. Despite circulating reports, he affirmed that his allegiance to the party remains unbroken, attributing the speculations to individuals with malicious intent.

The Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), represented by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the chief spokesman of the now-disbanded Obi-Datti campaign council, emphatically dismissed recent unfounded and deceptive news stories insinuating Obi’s exit from the party.

Tanko clarified, stating, “These claims are baseless and did not originate from Mr. Obi or the Obidient Movement; instead, they stem from troublemakers aiming to sow discord within the party.” He highlighted a pattern of misconduct against the party, emphasizing that such attempts to dismantle and disrupt its structure have been ongoing, motivated by a desire to undermine Obi and hinder the crucial mission of rescuing Nigeria.

“Currently, our principal is engrossed in efforts to improve Nigeria, steering away from partisan politics that concluded on October 26, 2023, with the Supreme Court’s definitive ruling on the general elections,” Tanko explained.

He asserted that those orchestrating a crisis within the Labour Party are adversaries of democracy, yearning for the persistence of a failed status quo. Tanko assured the public, especially the Obidient family, that Obi’s commitment to the Labour Party remains unwavering.
