Former Governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has unequivocally denounced the recent Kaduna bombing as an avoidable tragedy, emphasizing that it was not an act of God.

During a Twitter space interaction on Sunday, Obi urged governments and compassionate individuals to establish a foundation for compensating the families affected by the devastating incident, as well as similar tragedies in the past.

The horrifying Kaduna bombing, caused by the Nigerian Army, resulted in the tragic loss of at least 87 lives, with 76 others sustaining serious injuries.

In response to this tragedy, Obi implored security agencies to rely on credible human intelligence reports before launching any offensive attacks, stressing the importance of preventing innocent casualties in future incidents.

In a poignant statement, Obi declared, “The bombing that happened in Kaduna that took the lives of about 120 people was never an act of God! I don’t believe in that.”

Obi’s impassioned plea reflects the urgent need for proactive measures to avoid such senseless loss of life, resonating with the shared desire for peace and security in Nigeria.

The fallout from this tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the critical importance of prioritizing human intelligence and exercising utmost caution in security operations to safeguard innocent lives.

As the nation grapples with the aftermath of this heartbreaking event, Obi’s call to action serves as a rallying cry for solidarity, compassion, and decisive steps toward preventing such catastrophic occurrences in the future.
