Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has strongly condemned the abduction of students from the Federal University, Gusau, by suspected gunmen believed to be bandits.

Recall that Wuzup Nigeria reported that the abduction occurred in the early hours of Friday when the terrorists attacked the Sabon-Gida community within the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where many university students resided.

Obi in a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account urged Nigerians not to allow criminals and bandits to dictate the rules by which the nation lives.

He stressed the importance of national unity in resisting such attempts and preventing criminals from undermining the country.

He stated, “We must as a nation resist any attempt to allow criminals to make the rules by which we live as a national community. And we should not allow bandits and criminals to destroy our nation.”

Highlighting the urgent need to address insecurity, Obi emphasized that creating a safe and secure Nigeria should be a top priority.

He also expressed a strong belief in the possibility of achieving a New Nigeria characterized by enhanced security and safety for all citizens.
