The 2023 Presidential election candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has urged President Bola Tinubu to tell Nigerians his true name and give a reintroduction of himself.
The call was made by the former Anambra governor in a press conference on Wednesday, asking the President to provide clear details about the schools he attended, his participation in the National Youth Service Corps, and a potential change of name amidst the ongoing saga into his academic records.
According to Obi, the controversy surrounding Tinubu’s identity has worsened Nigeria’s image internationally, portraying every Nigerian as a fraudster, certificate forger, or identity thief.
He stated that such unnecessary controversies could have been avoided, especially considering Tinubu’s position as a former governor and a presidential aspirant and the President is obligated to answer the call.
