Labor Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi has commended Professor Ijeoma Uchegbu on her appointment as President of Wolfson College, University of Cambridge.

Obi hopes her position will create a generation of dedicated researchers who will push the boundaries of science, medicine and global health. He also hopes it will have more influence worldwide.

Additionally, Uchegbu was asked by the former governor of Anambra State to continue to support Nigeria’s development, particularly in the areas of health and education.

He wrote, “I would like to warmly congratulate Ijeoma Uchegbu, a Nigerian and Professor of Pharmaceutical Nanoscience, celebrated for her exceptional work in nanoparticle drug delivery, who has just been appointed as the 7th President of Wolfson College, one of the 31 colleges of the University of Cambridge .

“Prof. Uchegbu, currently a lecturer at University College London, is also celebrated globally for her outstanding intellectual and global work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), which has earned her numerous awards, fellowships and awards as she continues to thrive in pharmaceutical nanoscience.

“Their innovative breakthroughs and academic excellence, born from years of dedication and hard work, have not only led to the development of new treatments that promise entirely new pain relief, but also paved the way for deeper research in pharmaceutical science to improve pain relief leveled health – a very important index of human development. If she bravely takes on her new position next year, I wish her more success overall.”
