In the confluence state of a nation, there live a dogged but reticent politician.
The state is full of talkatives and reverberating politicians but this gentle and target oriented politician is different from all the others. He dreamt of becoming the most successful and magnificent politician in that state, but he also knew he had to be patient, talk less and work hard for it.
Every morning, the other politicians, their followers inclusive would sprout out on social media, reaching for the whole wide world giggling and chattering, making fun of this highly calculative, reserved and restrained politician for not being a vibrator, a ranter or boisterous speaker like others. Because he had refused not to join them casting aspersions on or slandering a whole ethnic nationality, they had resolved therefore, that this politician of credence and impeccable political accumen can not speak. They had resolved he is dumped. He can not address his people let alone the public and we can’t allow him to governor the state..these and many others are their lingering cooked lies. But this goalgetter, this target oriented politician would simply smile and reply, “I am taking my time because I want to be the best version of my boss, I don’t talk too much.”
As days turned into weeks, weeks into months and few days into the election day, these politicians of mean reputes, these reverberating politicians lately realized that thair campaign antiques and strategies will failed them; they are, helplessly watching people decamping in their thousands into the political folds of this reticent politician. The political party of this peace loving politician grows numerically stronger as the days passed. It becomes modest and loving political party to people of the state. It’s campaign agendum blossomed the people’s minds in the most brilliant ways, attracting people from across the state. This political party that suffers lies and hatred in the past days is quickly becoming a haven of peace and fellowship for the people of this state.
This confluence state in print, Kogi State was on Sunday, October 8, 2023 visited by the Vice-President, Kashim Shettima on an official campaign flagoff rally. When this reserved politician, the All Progressive Congress governorship candidate, Alh. Usman Ododo was speaking, he dishes out amazements to the world. The Vice-President was marvelled at so many things about his personality, his eloquent speeches, his wisdom, the crowd he pulled, love and resilience of the people and he can not help but to start clapping for him and said with admiration. “You have become the most magnificent version of your boss in this state, go ahead with your campaigns and tell the good people of the state what you will do for them and not insult for you will not only succeed Yahaya Bello, but you will also going to be the eyes of the All Progressive Congress here in the state-APC can not afford to lose this state for strategic reasons.”
Finally, this patient, reticent politician became a role model for all the other politicians in Kogi State from last Sunday. The coming of the Vice-President was waning to the oppositions and eroding the chances of APC winning the election in the state as now conspicuously obvious to even his oppositions.
Ododo’s political lifestyle of being reserved and calculative had taught children, political apprentice and politicians who talk too much the value of strategic planning, silence, patience, persistence, hard work, commitment and the joy of attaining one’s goals after a long period of jeering and mockery.
At last, people now know he can speak-the lies can’t fly anymore.
