On March 23, 2024, the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos State, became the focal point of celebration as Olufunke, the wife of a former Ogun State Governor, Senator Gbenga Daniel, commemorated her 60th birthday.
The event, which was graced by an array of distinguished guests, was indeed a spectacular one.
The ambience of the hall where the festivities unfolded was beautifully adorned with vibrant decorations that added to the jubilant atmosphere.
Olufunke, looking resplendent, donned an all-white traditional attire that harmonised beautifully with her husband’s matching outfit. Throughout the soirée, the couple were glued to each other’s side, basking in the joyous occasion.
One of the highlights of the event was when a popular saxophonist, Beejaysax, thrilled the audience with melodious tunes that resonated through the venue. And, the birthday girl could not resist showcasing her dance prowess.
Juju music legend, Sunny Ade; was at his signature best as he dazzled the birthday girl and her family and friends with his eclectic dance steps.
Earlier, President Bola Tinubu had sent his heartfelt birthday wishes to the celebrator. It was contained in a statement, which read in part, “As Yeye Daniel marks this milestone, President Tinubu wishes her many more years in good health and strength.”
Notable personalities in attendance at the event included the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi; Chairman of Eleganza Group of Companies, Rasaq Okoya and his wife, Shade; a former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Ameachi, and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, among others.
