The former Governor of Anambra State and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, is currently in a closed door meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
Obi was accompanied to the meeting by political activist Aisha Yesufu.
The meeting was disclosed by the Oyo State Government on social media.
Details are, however, yet to be revealed.
The meeting may not be unconnected to political strategies for the 2027 election.
There are currently talks for a merger which will lead to a larger party. The merger is expected to be between the Peoples Democratic Party which Makinde is a member of, the New Nigeria Peoples Party and the Labour Party.
