Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, extended his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community as they celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

In a congratulatory message delivered in Lagos on Wednesday, Obi, who is also a former Governor of Anambra State, expressed his felicitations on the occasion of Eid-El Maulud.

“I want to sincerely congratulate all Nigerian Muslims as they celebrate Eid-El Maulud, a commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad,” Obi stated.

“This celebration presents us with an opportunity to engage in introspection and seek the Prophet’s intercessions for divine intervention in the multitude of challenges our nation faces,” he added.

Obi emphasized that Nigeria continues to grapple with various issues, including disunity among its citizens, widespread poverty, high unemployment rates, and pervasive insecurity.

He urged Muslims to pray for lasting peace in the country, aligning their actions with the teachings of the Holy Prophet.

The presidential candidate also appealed to Muslims to exhibit brotherly love towards their fellow countrymen and women, especially the less privileged, irrespective of their ethnic or religious affiliations.

He concluded by extending his best wishes for a joyous Eid el Maulud celebration to all Muslims.
