Following the allegations of officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps involvement in illegal oil bunkering, the governor of River State, Nyesom Wike, had ordered the disbandment of the anti-vandal unit in the state.
This comes after some officers of the NSCDC, were arrested and disarmed over allegations of aiding and abetting vandals as well as illegal oil bunkers, to carry out their nefarious activities in the state.
