In order to lessen the suffering of its people, the Nigeria Labour Congress, or NLC, has asked the Federal Government to act swiftly to resolve the nation’s present financial crisis.

The NLC President, Mr. Joe Ajaero, stated in a statement on Tuesday that the congress was extremely worried about the recent financial crisis that has shook the Nigerian economy.

He claimed that as the country got closer to the holiday season, the NLC started to worry about the situation.
As per his statement, the nation’s economic situation has significant consequences for its populace.

“In order to prevent further hardships for the already suffering Nigerian populace, urgent steps to address this issue are required,” he stated.

Ajaero claimed that the previous cash scarcity was caused by the previous government’s poorly thought out and executed currency redesign scheme.

He bemoaned the fact that Nigerians are now spending more time looking for money, emphasizing that this development erodes trust in the country’s financial sector.

“Nigerians are spending more time in banks attempting to locate cash—not money that is missing from their accounts, but cash of their own.”

He claimed that this was weakening public trust in banks and might deter people from actively engaging in banking.
