Reno Omokri, a former media advisor to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has made an appeal to Peter Obi, who was the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the February 2023 election, to provide assistance to John Okafor, widely recognized as Mr. Ibu.
Omokri conveyed this request through a post on his verified social media account, emphasizing that the actor, currently undergoing medical treatment, had previously organized a fundraiser for Peter Obi in 2022. He urged supporters of the former Anambra state governor to contribute to Mr. Ibu’s cause.
In his social media post on Thursday, October 19, Omokri wrote, “Do a quick search. Mr. Ibu initiated a fundraising campaign for Peter Obi when he was in good health. Substantial funds were raised through that initiative. The least Peter Obi can do now is allocate a portion of the substantial funds generated from that campaign to assist Mr. Ibu during his current health challenges. This isn’t about insults, my fellow Obidients. Let’s first encourage Peter Obi to make a contribution. Feel free to criticize me later.”
The renowned actor is currently confined to his bed due to deteriorating health. A video featuring the ailing comedian and actor has sparked reactions online. The video captured his family celebrating his birthday while he sat in an unwell state, showing no enthusiasm for their jests.
