LP accuses the Supreme Court of failing to deliver judgement regarding Obi vs. Tinubu case
The Labour Party (LP), the supporting political party of the presidential candidate Peter Obi, has alleged that the Supreme Court did not perform its duties by not delivering a certified true copy of the apex court’s judgement.
According to LP, the Supreme Court did not deliver a judgement on the Obi vs Tinubu case, defining the act as embarrassing and depressing.
“The LP finds it very embarrassing and depressing that the Supreme Court would, after hearing the appeal by our party, refuse to deliver any judgement and also fail to avail our party of any copy of whatever it considers to be its decision. This constitutes an unmitigated breach of the constitutional right of LP and her candidate to a fair hearing.” the LP accusation reads.
Minister of Interior announces due date for automation of Nigerian Passport
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has revealed that applying for passports will become digital in a week as Nigerians can apply and bypass several stages online.
The automation of Nigerian passports is a credible means for Nigerians who are forced to travel to different states before being able to apply.
However, with automation, people only need the immigration offices to capture their biometrics.
“We gave a date — December 2023. We are 99 per cent done. In fact, we have done the testing and should be going live in the next week or thereabouts,” he said.
IATA reveals it is still affected by the Covid-19 pandemic
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) shared that it is yet to recover from the 2020/2021 Covid pandemic fully as the losses incurred were great.
